Ans. When Raki was a boy of six, he walked home eating cherries. They were little sweet and little sour but small and red, which had come from Kashmir valley. Such trees producing Cherries were not found in the locality of Raki. When Raki reached his cottage, there were only three cherries left with him. He gave one to his grand father and ate the remaining two. He asked his grandfather about the cherries. His grand father told him that every thing is lucky if they are planted. This made Raki to plant the cherry seed to have more Cherries.
Raki planted cherry seed in the ground where it was soft and yielding. One spring morning he found the plant shooting up a little. When the plant was a half a metre high, a goat entered the garden and ate up the leaves leaving a stem only. After the end of rainy season, new leaves appeared. Unfortunately a woman, while cutting grass, chopped the young tree again. But fortunately, it remained a half. As the cherry tree did not like todie it sprouted again. Now it had many shoots. One day Raki found a hairy caterpillar on the tree which ate up leaves as meals. Raki picked it up and threw it away on a wall. In due course of time, the tree grew much and reached equal to the height of Raki. Now it was blossoming too and produced some sour cherries to be riped in future.
उत्तर— जब राकी छह साल का था, तो वह चेरी खाकर घर चला गया। वे थोड़े मीठे और थोड़े खट्टे लेकिन छोटे और लाल थे, जो कश्मीर घाटी से आए थे। चेरी पैदा करने वाले ऐसे पेड़ राकी के इलाके में नहीं पाए जाते थे। जब राकी अपनी कुटिया पर पहुँचा तो उसके पास केवल तीन चेरी बची थीं। उसने एक अपने दादा को दिया और शेष दो को खा लिया। उसने अपने दादा से चेरी के बारे में पूछा। उनके दादाजी ने उन्हें बताया कि अगर वे लगाए जाएं तो सब कुछ भाग्यशाली है। इसने राकी को चेरी के बीज बोने के लिए और अधिक चेरी बनाने के लिए बनाया। राकी ने चेरी के बीज को उस जमीन में लगाया जहाँ वह नरम और उपज देने वाला था। एक वसंत की सुबह उसने पौधे को थोड़ा ऊपर उठते हुए पाया। जब पौधा आधा मीटर ऊँचा हो गया, तो एक बकरी बगीचे में प्रवेश कर गई और केवल एक तना छोड़कर पत्तियों को खा गई। वर्षा ऋतु समाप्त होने के बाद नए पत्ते दिखाई देने लगे। दुर्भाग्य से एक महिला ने घास काटते समय फिर से युवा पेड़ को काट दिया। लेकिन सौभाग्य से, यह आधा रह गया। चूंकि चेरी का पेड़ मरना पसंद नहीं करता था, इसलिए वह फिर से अंकुरित हो गया।अब इसके कई शूट हो चुके थे। एक दिन राकी को पेड़ पर एक बालों वाली सुंडी मिली जो भोजन के रूप में पत्तियों को खाती थी। राकी ने उसे उठाया और एक दीवार पर फेंक दिया। समय के साथ, पेड़ बहुत बढ़ गया और राकी की ऊंचाई के बराबर पहुंच गया। अब वह भी खिल रहा था और भविष्य में पकने के लिए कुछ खट्टी चेरी पैदा कर रहा था।

Ans. Raki was a small, loving, caring and innocent boy. He had great love and affection for his grandfather. He loved sharing his fruits with grandfather. His grand father told him that every thing is lucky if they are planted. This made Raki to plant the cherry seed to have more cherries. This shows his loving nature. The way he took care of self-planted cherry tree shows his love for Nature. In due course of time, the tree sprouted into a full fledged tree producing Cherries. When Raki touched the tree, he felt that it was like God itself. This signifies his innocence.

Ans. Once a small boy Raki planted a cherry seed which in due course of time sprouted into a full fledged tree producing Cherries. When Raki touched the tree, he felt that it was like God itself. Thus the cherries succeeded in carrying a profound message of love and care, as it was only due to love and care. The tree grew and blossomed with cherry fruits.

The story narrates the destruction of the tree and the act of patience and endurance inculcated in child by his grandfather. The boy is rewarded as he finally gets his sweet cherries. The story has a message of love. The last line of the story reveals the philosophy of life.
